Ok, so I went to a Scout Niblett concert here in Aarhus and God, did she ever rock the venue… I swear, I’ve never experienced such a little person emit so much energy and raw power. She was so great! (Thank you Scout, “You really rock my world!”) Unfortunately she was only supporting Giant Sand, so she didn’t play for more than 45 minutes or something like that. I hope she’ll come around again some time soon, e.g. when she releases her new album Kidnapped by Neptune in April/May.

And just in case you haven’t heard any of her music, give it a try. You’d have to have a heart of stone not to enjoy it. There’s a Real Audio stream of her latest single Uptown Top Ranking available at Too Pure (her UK label). (The sound quality isn’t really great, but it gives a clue about her style — apart from the fact that she has made some tracks where she plays the drums and sings, which is really some of her best tracks.)
