Waiting for gear
A while ago I ordered a Stanton T.120 turntable from DJSuperstore, and a Stanton SA.3 mixer and Ortofon Concorde Scratch needle + cartridge from Musicstore.de. Now, the mixer, cartridge and needle were all delivered over a week ago, but apparently DJSuperstore has some problems coming up with my T.120 and apparently they tell me nothing unless I email them 3 times on different addresses and ask over and over again. Last I heard from them they said that the turntable they’d reserved for me was damaged when it went to dispatch and they’re now awaiting a replacement from Stanton and that they’d mail a confirmed date the next day, which they didn’t. Of course, I had to drag that out of them with the spamming mentioned earlier — the last I heard from them without eliciting anything my order was waiting to be shipped and they’d let me know when it actually did.
Now, I’m pretty sure that they’re not trying to rip me off or anything like that, but it’s still a major pain in the ass that they’re so slow and so bad at communicating with their customers. If anyone knows some way of pressuring them into hurrying up, please let me know — I’m getting somewhat impatient here.

I’m sad to hear this, Madsen. Dealing with costumers like that is a complete piss take. Even if they might claim that your situation is a rarity for them, they are on thin ice, since then they should be all the more able to pay more attention to you and your “misbehaving” order. I’m sure there is a fancy BizWORD for the system they clearly lack - we know it as a bug tracker.

Yeah, I’d definitely file a bug on that.
They’ve told me that my deck will ship tomorrow (ie. friday the 29th), so hopefully I’ll get an email tomorrow telling me that my T.120 is finally on its way.
I’ve asked them to compensate for the delay by either refunding the shipping (£30) or throwing in a decent cartridge + scratch needle, but I haven’t heard from them about that yet. My guess is “no”, but heck, I might as well try.

Any (good) news?

Nope, not anything good. They keep saying that they’re waiting for Stanton to contact them, because they (apparently) still haven’t received the turntable from them.

They contacted me today (well, technically yesterday) and told me that the turntable was on its way. Only problem is that they appear to use an uninsured, non-trackable shipping method, which could become a problem in the event that the turntable doesn’t make it here. This is AFTER I specifically requested (in 3 different mails!) that they use a trackable — and preferably insured — shipping method.
Also, they seem to have ignored everything I’ve mentioned about compensation for the delay (eg. paying for shipping, throwing in an Ortofon Concorde Scratch needle or two, or a pair of decent headphones — all suggestions around £30). Seriously, I don’t think it’s the least bit unfair to ask, especially because they’ve completely failed to keep me updated unless I’ve literally carpet bombed them with emails demanding an answer.
For their sake, I hope the turntable arrives without problems. This looks a little too much like a “lost in transit” setup to me. I won’t mind the least going legal on their sorry asses, if they try pulling such a stunt.
I’ve requested that they scan the shipping receipt and email it to me, in order to prove that a package actually is sent, but I seriously doubt that they’ll even bother answering the mail and much less scan the receipt and mail it.
Maybe it’s time to write a review and get a lot of people to link to it — I don’t think it’ll be too hard to outrank them in Google. We seem to have a pretty good ranking going here on Lillesvin. Muahahaaa!
