We (Julie and I) finally found a suitable apartment — not that many of my few, but dear, readers knew that we were actually looking for one. It’s 70 m2 and on the 4th floor with a view of the port (and a tiny bit of the bay) and it’s got a small, but ever so idyllic, roof terrace. It’s like some Swedish cottage dumped in the middle of Århus. Absolutely cozy and nice. Fantastic! Spectacular! Amazing! Fabulous! And on top of that it’s still affordable, though we’re both studying.
Apart from that, I’m really looking forward to moving away from this “collegium” or whatever you want to call it. I hate that I don’t have my own kitchen and bathroom. Right now I have to walk, like, 50 fucking meters to go to the bathroom or to make a cup of coffee! And, of course, sharing an apartment with Julie is going to be great.
I might be offline for a little while though (and the server too), but fear not! The server will be living with my dad from now on — and he’s getting a 2048/2048 kbit pipe, so the server will finally be able to deliver stuff at a reasonable speed. Everything seems to work out! Now all I need is a Nintendo Wii (check this out — thanks Stffn!) and everything’s perfect.
Congrats! The terrace thing sounds smashing. I’m sure your are gonna love sit there with your morning- coffee and fags during the summer. Looking forward to come for a visit.
Apart from that I think your should donate, say, 20m^2 to me.
Hehe, actually, since there are 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room and kitchen, we actually have a spare room. :) You can sleep there, when you’re visiting. (Charlotte is very welcome too of course.)
Congrats!
2 kitchens too?
Spare room? You mean office :-)
@ Bjarke >>
Thanks! :)
Basically, yeah – compared to the kitchen space we each have now it’s probably something like 9.3 kitchens. ;)
I doubt the spare room will be anybody’s office even though we keep refering to it as “arbejdsværelset”… Probably more like a play room with all my guitars (and the likes), Julie’s painting gear, our computers and stuff.
Doh! I didn’t realize I’d mentioned the kitchen twice in the same sentence… :-/
I guess, now I have to mention it 7.3 times more (I’m rounding down)…
Kitchen, kitchen, kitchen, kitchen, kitchen, kitchen, kitchen, ki…
Ummm, big kitchen is nice. And i totally understand that you look forward to get away form where you live now. Maybe you even get you own mailbox!
When are you moving in?
I’d love to bring Charlotte. In fact i don’t think she’s ever been to Århus. Other then maybe going through in car once.
We’re moving in this weekend – saturday most probably. ;) It’s going to be sooo awesome. Except that I’ll have limited internet access until Fullrate has the time to drop by. I won’t be cut off entirely though… I can bring my mac to U and use their wifi – or just hope someone in a nearby building has an open wireless network (which is not at all unprobable).
Well, you’ll properly have a good time decorating and stuff like that, why internet is less important.
Having been someone off-line for more than two weeks I concur with stffn. Internet might not be of most importance.
I was voluntary off-line – though.

Glad to see your server up and about again :-)
(I stopped receiving PlanetPenguins notifications about it’s down-status :-) )
but i don’t think the mail server is up.
there is more wiimote action here: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2007/04/10/wii-as-lightsaber-more-wii-kyma-synthesized-goodness-but-the-original-was-cheaper/
The mail server IS up again, but you can’t connect directly to port 25 on it (because TDC won’t open it), however, they provide an MX-backup, that can override that restriction, so instead of delivery directly to the mail-server, all mail must go by TDC’s MX-backup. It does seem to work though…
Hi Anders,
It’s so nice to hear that you finally escaped that stupid old room in Østergade.
I hope you’re having a nice time in your new apartment. I hope to see you soon — it’s really a long time ago, eh?
Cheers,
Anders Ø.
