Hello MacBook
A thousand yays and cheers! I’m writing this from my brand spanking new MacBook (the white 2 GHz model) and I’m soooo enjoying it. Right now I’m still getting used to using it (eg. writing “@”) and configuring like hell… But I just love the Just Works™ feeling it’s got. Awesome!
Anyways, I’ll probably be looking into installing some Debian or Ubuntu on it at some point, but for now I just want to try out OS X.

Also, I’m looking forward to joining the club.

Congrats! I find it a fairly good piece of steel (or more correct, plastic). As for installing linux, but wanting to try out os x: be careful. As you know, i said tha same, and i’m just more then half a year after, still running os x.
I’m soo looking forward to chat with you, and share experience, about this. Hope you get more email time, at least.

You’ll be falling in love soon, my friend. Seen it happen to both older and younger folks than you ;-) This here ole PB is up and running, no hassle, since May 2005. Apple sent me a new battery saying ‘careful your house doesn’t burn down’, but that’s the only interruption so far. Go OSX.

Bjarke, It’s a matter of time, i think. The ion is worth it alone.

Well, if ardour and synfig - and some other Linux apps - are ported to OS X, then I see no reason to install Linux…

Ardour: http://ardour.org/files/releases/Ardour-0.99.3-universal.dmg
Synfig.. ehm.. next version, maybe — They took the latest release offline, but I guess you could get it from source :-)
As for GIMP, you will have to wait or try out Seashore: http://seashore.sourceforge.net/
All other major apps are ported I think - Gtk for OSX is well on it’s way too, so GIMP might not be far away :-)

How does it feel two weeks later? I’m thinking of buying the black 13″…
February 18th, 2007 at 4:08 pm
Two weeks later… I was actually planning to blog about that sometime soon-ish.
Don’t buy the black one… Unless you think the color alone is worth 400 kr… (You can get a white one with the 120 GB hdd and some extra stuff for the same price as the black.)
But, I’ll blog about my first two weeks in a bit — I promise!

My first-look calculations told me it was same price. Nevermind. You’re right.
I’m looking forward ..
